Pre-Prep: Funseekers

We are thrilled to introduce Funseekers, our exclusive Holiday Club for Pre-Prep children aged two to seven years at Walhampton School this October.

With careful attention to early years ratios, we promise to provide the very best childcare for our youngest Walhampton pupils. Spaces are limited to ensure an intimate, nurturing environment, so we encourage you to book early to avoid missing out.


At Funseekers, your child will be at the heart of everything we do. Set against the backdrop of our stunning grounds and wonderful facilities, our passionate, highly qualified Walhampton team will guide children through a day filled with discovery, creativity,  exploration and play.

While we will have a plan in place, we always follow the unique interests and needs of each child, ensuring a truly personalised experience.


To keep them energised throughout the day, we will provide healthy morning and afternoon snacks. Please remember to pack a nut-free, wholesome lunch for your little one.


Please sign up here. Payment information will be shared on booking confirmation and required in advance, via a bank transfer, to secure your place. Childcare vouchers can be accepted towards payment.

Year 1-8: Activity Camp

The day will run from 8:30am to 4pm, with a small additional fee for those children needing to stay until 5pm. Lunch will be included.


Camp is offered to Years 1-8. We are also opening up the camp to friends and family of our pupils. Please contact our Commercial Coordinator, Alyson Joos, for a separate form for non-Walhampton children at a.joos@walhampton.com.  


Each day has a different focus or "theme":

Monday -Team Games/Orienteering 

Join in for some classic Walhampton fun and team building, including capture-the-flag, hide-and-seek, sardines, with more fun outdoor games and lunch in the glade or front terrace.

Tuesday - Harvest Craft and Baking 

Embrace the October/harvest season with rug-making, card-making, friendship bracelet beading, Hama bead art, and biscuit decorating fun.

Wednesday - Design & Technology

Test your skills by competing in our Lego bridge-building challenge, marble racetrack sprint, and construct your own bird house to place in your garden. 

Thursday - Halloween

This Halloween join us for pumpkin painting, sing-a-long movie time with popcorn and picnic lunch in the PAC, a themed quiz and an outdoor treats hunt with small candy prizes. Children may wear or bring costumes but please no fake blood or gore!

Friday - Outdoor Skills

One of our most requested days is outdoor skills and will include den-building, fire-making, knot-tying, Herbology class challenge of plant-identification, and lunch at our outdoor classroom with S'mores.


In the case of rain, Team Game Day or Outdoors Day will become Indoor Sports Day and will include: Basketball, Dodgeball, Badminton, Gymnastics circuit, Paper plane flying competition, Obstacle course, film in the PAC (Aladdin/The Lion King/The Parent Trap)


Pricing is as follows:

1/2/3 days of participation: £55 per day

4/5 days of participation: £50 per day


ISEB Test Support

Pre-Test Sessions

As part of this camp, pre-test sessions in the subject of English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-verbal Reasoning will be held in the morning from 8.30am - 12.30pm. 


The schedule is as follows:

Monday: Verbal Reasoning with Miss Harrison

Tuesday: English with Mrs Norgaard

Wednesday: Non-Verbal Reasoning with Mr Hamilton-Foyn

Thursday: Maths with Mr Hamilton-Foyn


Pre-test sessions will be priced separately at £35/day. 

If all four sessions are booked, then the charge is reduced to £30/day. An option to add on lunch and the afternoon activity camp is available (extra £25/day). 

Bikeability

We are delighted to offer three Level 1 sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours and a 6 hour Level 2 course on Wednesday 30th October

To book the course, please complete this FORM before Sunday 6th October. Bookings will be offered on a first come first served basis and if there is sufficient demand, further availability may be opened up for the 31st October. Places will be confirmed week commencing 7th October. Hampshire County Council are able to provide funding for the courses and there will just be a £5 administrative fee to Hampshire County Council to cover the course.

If you wish for your child to attend the holiday camp on the 30th October (Harvest Craft and Baking Day) and also complete their Level 1 course, we can arrange for them to be dropped to the Bikeability staff and collected to return to camp.

Chocolate Wizard Hats!

Join us at The Little Kitchen, Walhampton School, for a magical chocolate-making workshop! On Thursday 24th or Friday 25th

October, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, children will create their own chocolate wizard hats with gooey marshmallow and strawberry jam surprises.


In this 2.5-hour workshop, children will:


Perfect for Year 4 and up! Cost: £35.00.

Year 1 to Year 8 Camp/ISEB Test Support


Could we please ask that you drop your child off at the Middles/Courtyard Gate but, noting the school is largely closed next week, that you don’t arrive before 8.30am. Pick up at 12:30pm, 4pm or 5pm will also be at the Middles/Courtyard Gate.


Pre-Prep 'Funsekeers' 


Drop off is at 8.30am with an option for an early drop off at 8.00am. Could we please ask that you drop your child off at the Pre-Prep Reception but, noting the school is largely closed next week, that you don’t arrive before 8.00am. Pick up at 12.30pm, 4pm or 5pm will also be at Pre-Prep Reception.


What to bring

Please remember to ensure your child brings appropriate clothing for the day and a water bottle.


For Pre-Prep camp please remember to pack a nut-free, wholesome lunch for your little one. To keep them energised throughout the day, we will provide healthy morning and afternoon snacks.


For the Prep School camp lunch and snacks will be provided so there is no need to provide a packed lunch. 


For those attending Bikeability, further information will be sent out with the booking form but children will require a bike and helmet.
