Walhampton Holiday Camps

Introduction

We are delighted to confirm a brand new format for our forthcoming Walhampton holiday camps this October half term. Designed and run by our own team of Walhampton staff, these camps will help support busy, working families and those looking to keep children entertained. Our camps will offer a variety of engaging, purposeful and of course fun activities, making the most of our internal and external spaces.

Additionally, for those children taking the ISEB pre-test in November, we are providing a separate, teacher-led session across four mornings to help support them in their preparation and to build confidence. These sessions are booked separately from the activity camps but children are welcome to join for  lunch and the afternoon activity should they wish to.

Following feedback from the class reps we are also excited to offer the Bikeability Level 1 and 2 training courses this October half term, run by the Hampshire County Council Bikeability team. Level 1 is designed for children in Year 3+ and Level 2 for children in Year 5+. With funding available from Hampshire, we can offer both of these courses for a £5 fee. 

We hope that the new camp format is both engaging and fun for the children, but also that it is a helpful resource for your family. Please do support the camps and note that we are able to take childcare vouchers as payment.

Details for October Half Term 2024

24th and 25th October: Pre-Prep Funseekers Camp, 8.30am - 4pm/5pm

• A nurturing camp run by the Pre-Prep team for children in Nursery – Year 2. Click the link below for more details. 

24th and 25th October: Chocolate Wizard Hats!, 10am - 12:30pm

• Miss Witt will be hosting a magical chocolate-making workshop in Little Kitchen. Children will create their own chocolate wizard hats with gooey marshmallow and strawberry jam surprises. Click on the link below for more details.

28th October – 1st November: Walhampton Activity Camp, 8.30am – 4pm/5pm

• A fun filled camp with a variety of autumn themed activities for children in Year 1 – Year 8. Click the link below for more details. Lunch and snacks will be included to save on the requirement to make a packed lunch.

28th October – 31st October: ISEB Pre-test support, 8.30am - 12.30pm

• A teacher led session to support pre-test practice and confidence for children in Year 6 and Year 7 who are sitting the test this November. Click the link below for more details. 

30th October – Bikeability Level 1 and 2

• Level 1 (Year 3+) is a 1.5 hour session held at school with three different timed slots available, 9.00am-10.30am, 10.45am-12.15pm and 1.00pm-2.30pm. Level 1 participants are welcome to join the school activity camp for the day and we will ensure they join the Bikeability session at the appropriate time. The last few spaces remain available for Level 1 - please complete the form below if still interested.

• Level 2 (Year 5+)  is a longer day course running 9.00am - 3.00pm with a lunch break. It will take children onto quieter, local roads to gain experience in traffic once they have built confidence on the Walhampton site. LEVEL 2 IS NOW FULL.
