Online Parents' Evenings: A guide for parents

Parents Booking has been designed so that parents find it simple to use.

To help any parents who might not be sure how to log in, or how make their bookings, there are several short videos, each explaining how to undertake a specific task in the software. These videos are at the bottom of this page.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Parents Booking here

  2. Use your personal information to log in. You do not need to create a username or password. All you need to enter is the following:

  • Your first name and surname

  • Your child’s first name, surname and date of birth

  • The login details you enter must match those we have on record for you.

  1. Log in by selecting which child you want to make bookings for first. If you have more than one child who requires bookings, you can switch between them once you are logged in.

Booking appointments

      1. Scroll down until you see the booking table. Above it are the departments and teachers which are available to you.

      2. Select the department, then teacher, and click on an available time to make a booking. When you selected a time, you’re able to add any issues or comments for the teacher to take note of before the appointment.

      3. Repeat this process, making bookings for all the teachers you wish to see. If you are seeing a teacher who teaches your child more than one subject, please

      4. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, click on the correct department and teacher, then click on the green appointment to change it.

      5. If you need to make bookings for another child, scroll to the top of the page. In the top left corner you should see a ‘Make a Booking for Another Child’ icon. Click this. If there is no icon, the software does not recognise that you have multiple children. This just means that you’ll need to log out and log back in again using the other child’s details.

      6. Once you have made all of your bookings, click on either E-Mail or Print my Appointments. Appointments are saved when they are made, so you don’t have to e-mail or print to ‘save’ them, but doing so will provide a confirmation with further information, possibly including rooms and instructions from the school.

Online format

Online appointments have a timer at the top of the screen to ensure that the evenings run to schedule. They will automatically time out after the allotted time has elapsed. If you feel you need further discussion with a teacher, do please arrange a meeting on another occasion.

If the same meeting needs to be accessed from two different devices because parents are in different locations, one parent can tick a box to share all their appointments with other family members. Also, a ‘shareable link’ is embedded in every video meeting confirmation so that this can be forwarded to the other parent, for ease of access (one click, no login required).

On the day of your appointments, you need to re-login at the website address above 10 minutes before your appointments are due to begin. You will be able to join the video meeting room, where you can wait for your appointment(s).

Internet Browser Compatibility

You must use one of the below device and internet browser combinations for the video meeting technology to work:

· Linux computer: Chrome or Firefox

Troubleshooting Tips

  • The email address field entered is only used to send your appointment confirmation. If you have problems logging in, it will not be because of the e-mail address you entered.
